Who Will Make the Fire
Greta Bellamacina

A personal book about love, loss, nature, depression and recovery, Greta Bellamacina's Who Will Make The Fire employs elemental metaphors - of wind, of dawn, of trees and fire - to explore the interior world of its author.

This beautiful collection, published in association with New River Press, questions what it means to really live, with stillness and with fire, how to combat a digital world and to return to the earth. In these poems, Bellamacina asks us to allow the hidden circle of nature back into ourselves.

Praise for Who Will Make the Fire

‘Dreamlike, with bite. Bellamacina’s work is brutal, flfloral, blood-soaked and knowing, in the way that nature is both cruel and beautiful.’ Florence Welch

‘A spell binding collection of poems.’ Nick Cave

‘Reading Greta Bellamacina’s poetry is like drinking a cocktail made by the four elements in a bar on the edge of Time. I feel connected when I read her poems — to nature, to light, to a muscular spirituality that takes root in bodies, houses, earth and trees. I am always amazed by how she balances elegance and fearlessness in her words. This collection is wild and it shines.’ Emma Jane Unsworth

‘Elegiac, guttural and gorgeous. To sit down and read them is such a welcome halting of time.’ Pandora Sykes
